  • EBSCO Host Databases http://libraries.maine.edu/mainedatabases/  FREE access for all Maine citizens!  Multiple indexes to popular and scholarly publications with many full-text articles provided.  

  • ETOH:   http://etoh.niaaa.nih.gov/ A comprehensive online bibliographic database containing over 100,000 records on alcohol abuse and alcoholism. Contains research findings from the late 1960s to the present, as well as historical research literature. 

  • ERIC:   http://eric.ed.gov/ The world's largest source of education information, with more than 1 million abstracts of documents and journal articles on education research and practice.  Coverage: 1966-present. 

  • IDA : http://www.nacoa.org/NewSearch.aspx  IDA, (Information on Drugs and Alcohol), contains scientific literature relating to alcohol and substance abuse prevention and sociological literature.  Provides abstracts and bibliographic records.

  • PubMed:  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez  PubMed, a service of the National Library of Medicine provides access to to over 11 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources.

  • NCJRS Abstracts Database:   http://www.ncjrs.gov/App/AbstractDB/AbstractDBSearch.aspx  The National Criminal Justice Reference Service  (NCJRS) Abstracts Database contains summaries of more than 170,000 criminal justice publications, including Federal, State, and local government reports, books, research reports, journal articles, and unpublished research.     

  • SAIDhttp://said.dol.gov  Substance Abuse Information Database (SAID). This  database provides summaries and full text of materials relating to workplace substance abuse issues.

  • SAMDHA: http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/SAMHDA/about/about-samhda.html Substance Abuse and Mental Health Data Archive provides free, ready access to comprehensive research data in a variety of formats and promotes the sharing of these data among researchers, academics, policymakers, service providers, and others.

  • Smoking & Health Resource Library :  http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/search/  Items in this database focus on the scientific, medical, technical, policy, behavioral, legal, and historical literature related to smoking and tobacco use and its effect on health.

  • NCADI:  http://ncadi.samhsa.gov/ The National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information is the world's largest resource for current information and materials concerning substance abuse prevention.  They offer more than 500 items to the public, many of which are free of chargeNCADI  information specialists can  recommend  appropriate publications, posters, and videocassettes & dvds; conduct customized searches; provide grant and funding information; and refer people to appropriate organizations.
