Archival IndicatorsArchival Indicators (also known as Social Indicators) are comprised of data collected from public information sources that allow individual counties to see trends of risk factors in their communities. These indicators have been shown to correlate strongly with specific risk factors for youth involvement in alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, violence, and other prohibited behavior. Data is collected annually for all counties as well as at the state level. The database is updated each year and reported as a rate or percentage. Examples of data contained in the database include: divorce, immunizations, and teen pregnancy. The majority of the indicators contain data from 1988 through the most current year available. The information has been sorted into each domain, risk factor and individual indicator. The data files are formatted in Excel. Click on any of the underlined indicators below to see the data associated with it. Each indicator has: (1) the raw data, the populations and the rates by county and state; (2) a comparison graph for the last several years by county and state; and, (3) a trend graph for each county comparing it to the rest of the state. Once you have opened the file, click on the tabs at the bottom of the workbook to display each sheet.
